There was fitting symmetry to Christian Brothers Academy's 26th state championship in indoor track & field.
In a dominant effort, the Colts posted a 26-point victory to hoist yet another state championship trophy. It is CBA's first indoor state title since 2020, after the meet was not held in 2021 and falling just short in 2022 and 2023.
The Colts separated themselves from the pack in the 1600 and 3200 events, sweeping all three podium spots in both.
In the 1600, senior Conor Clifford won the race in 4:15.90, while juniors Joe Barrett (4:16.61) and Alex Mastroly (4:20.67) completed the CBA podium.
As for the 3200, it was senior Alex Kemp emerging as the winner in 9:20.18, while junior Ryan Schmitt (9:27.29) and sophomore Luke Hnatt (9:29.55) were second and third.
Senior Tristan McFarlane led the way on the field side, topping the high jump event.
CBA also took podium spots in the 4x400 relay (second), 800m (junior Thomas Field, third ), and shotput (junior Albert Yodakis, third).
The victory means that CBA completes the indoor season with four major titles: the state championship, the state relays championship, the Shore Conference Championship and the Monmouth County Championship.
