After a solid September of racing, CBA Sailing did not miss a beat during the October slate of regattas.
The month was capped off by the Colts' third consecutive BBYRA Invitational Regatta win on October 29, taking home the Rooster Flag trophy as has been tradition for over 100 years on the Barnegat Bay.
Freshman Christopher Small and sophomore Kyle Lombardino had an excellent day, winning four of the seven races in A Division. Seniors Noah Kuzloski and Nick Cuhna added five more top-three finishes in B Division to clinch the regatta victory.
Just one week earlier, CBA finished first and second at the Toms River Autumn Challenge. On the winning team, senior Bryce Vitiello and junior Luke Pennisi notched all top-four finishes to place second in A Division, while junior Mitchell Hnatt and sophomore Ryan Mullholland were second in B Division. Small, Lombardino, Kuzloski and Cuhna made up the second place team.
Christian Brothers also won the annual NJISA Fall Series, which consisted of six Wednesdays of sailing in Toms River. It is the third straight season that CBA has won the season series and fourth in the past five years. CBA also finished second and fifth overall in the 2022 series, showing some impressive depth.
Earlier in the month, the Colts traveled to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for the Lawrence White National Invitational on October 8-9, finishing a solid seventh place against teams from up and down the East Coast.
With the fall season in the books, the Colts will return to the water in March for the spring campaign.
