Returning to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut for the first time since 2015, the Christian Brothers Academy sailing team finished 10th in the highly-competitive Lawrence White National Invitational.
The Colts were paced by freshman Ryan Ehnot and junior Joe David, who strung together nine single-digit finishes in their 12 races sailed. The duo finished sixth in their division, just two points out of fourth place.
Ehnot and David never finished out of the top-12 in any race and won two races, including the final race of Sunday in dominating fashion. It was Ehnot's first two race wins as a Colt.
CBA was sailing against high schools from as far as Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, and Maine, as well as a handful of mid-Atlantic schools.
The team was rounded out by Quinn Harrington '19, Justin Modin '19, Ryan Mullins '19 and Walter Mehl '21.
Christian Brothers has never finished outside of the top-10 of this national invitational in five times they have participated, including ninth in 2010, seventh in 2012, fifth in 2013, and fifth in 2015.
The Colts will return to action at the Mid-Atlantic District Invitational next weekend in Toms River.
