THANK YOU, Coach Billet.

After 18 seasons at the helm, Geoff Billet is finishing his tenure as head coach of the Christian Brothers Academy basketball program.

The 1995 CBA graduate led his alma mater to two state sectional titles, two Shore Conference Championships, and several divisional titles during his time as head coach. Overall, Billet won more than 300 games with CBA, who continued to be a mainstay at the top of the Shore Conference.

“Christian Brothers Academy extends its gratitude to Coach Billet for his unrelenting devotion to CBA Basketball and his student-athletes over the past 18 years,” President Ross Fales said. “Each season, Coach Billet represented the Academy with passion and professionalism on the sidelines. He’s had a profound impact on a myriad of young players and will forever be a part of the CBA Basketball legacy. We wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter.”

After a stint as a collegiate coach, Billet returned to the Academy in 2007 after the retirement of longtime head coach Ed Wicelinski. Over his 18 years as head coach, Billet mentored hundreds of student-athletes, helping them work to be the best version of themselves both on and off the court.

“These 18 years would not have been possible without the hard work of our student-athletes, partnership with terrific assistant coaches, and the support of our parents and fans,” Billet said. “It has been an honor to serve as head basketball coach at the Academy and I will forever be thankful for the memories we made together.”

Six Colts joined the 1,000-point club under Billet’s tutelage, including Pat Andree setting a new all-time scoring record in 2016. Dozens of CBA student-athletes have gone on to play collegiate basketball after working with Coach Billet.

As a player at CBA under Wicelinski, Billet was both an All-Shore and All-State selection. With Billet manning the point guard position, the Colts won three straight Shore Conference Championships, the first team in the modern era to do so, and the 1995 Non-Public A State Championship.

Christian Brothers Academy will commence a search for its next head basketball coach later this month. Information will be posted on LetsGoColts.com.
