With the calendar finally turning to spring, the CBA track & field team hosted the annual A-North Division Outdoor Championship on March 29 at the Sheehan Track Complex on campus.

The Colts continued their winning ways, securing the A-North Championship in dominant fashion, showcasing their depth and talent across all events while earning another division title with ease.

CBA controlled the competition from the start, excelling in distance races, sprints, and field events. The team’s depth was on full display, with multiple athletes contributing points in their events. The distance squad, a hallmark of CBA’s success, dominated the 1600m and 3200m, while sprinters and relay teams added to the commanding performance.

“Early performances really set the tone for how the team as a whole will compete for the rest of the season,” junior hurdler Owen Smock.

Freshman Millen Dhiman started the season off strong opening with a javelin mark of 142-3 and fresh off of basketball season, Gavin Marlin picked up where he left off last spring opening with a 6-0 high jump.

This victory serves as an early-season milestone, setting the stage for bigger challenges ahead.

“Early A-North performances set the tone for the season,” senior sprinter Ethan Fianko said. “When athletes see their teammates succeed, it pushes them to work harder and improve.”

With county, sectional, and state meets approaching, the Colts are building momentum for what promises to be another successful season. The team will host a second event in a row on April 5 when six teams descend on CBA for the Colt Team Challenge.
