A special trait of a championship winning program is setting a challenging schedule for itself, looking to face top teams early and often to help the team grow stronger.

Christian Brothers Academy Crew did just that this fall and returned impressive results during the course of the six week season.

At the Head of the Riverfront Regatta, CBA faced some of the best schools and clubs from the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colts were super competitive with two outstanding results in the 4+ (4th of 35) and 8+ (8th of 28) fields.

One week later, the Colts were in Philadelphia for the annual Navy Day Regatta. Four CBA boats took to the Schuylkill River with the 8+ A boat finishing second in a field of 17 fast boats. The 4+ A boat was fourth out of 39 teams.

Christian Brothers continued its tradition of qualifying and sending boats to perhaps most prestigious rowing event of the year, the Head of the Charles in Boston. The Youth Fours and Youth Eights gave it their all against talent from across the country, as the Youth Fours earning 18th out of an astounding 90 boats.

The fall came to a close with a Saturday-Sunday doubleheader at Mercer County Park in November.

At the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta, CBA took home plenty of medals with both Varsity 4 boats earning golds for their flights, Varsity 8 took second place, the JV 8 boat placed third in their flight, and the Freshman 8 also earned the bronze medal. The first and second Varsity 4 boats raced against 17 other crews with both boats making the grand final. The first Varsity 4 earned a bronze medal and the second Varsity 4 finished fifth.

CBA Crew will be back on the water in the spring as they continue their march towards the Scholastic Nationals in late May.
