As the regular season comes to a close, CBA Soccer looks to use the momentum from their strong finish to make waves in the postseason.

Although they had some bumps in the road, they overcame them and are looking dangerous going into the Shore Conference Tournament.

The beginning of the season saw the Colts faced with a few tough challenges. Several seniors left the team after last year’s run, so CBA had new faces and many had questions about how the newer players would acclimate. After a few early season losses, the Colts reset for the stretch run.

Many of the new faces became leaders on the pitch. Ryan Asadi, who was new to the team this season, leads the Colts in scoring with five goals. Junior James Brady has also been a huge weapon for CBA, currently tied for the team lead with 11 points.

Of course, the senior talent cannot go overlooked. Standout players such as Phil Bodenski, Brayden Perry and Nick Tesauro have shown leadership and resilience throughout the season. Goalie Sean Najdzinowicz has come up in the clutch time and time again, recording multiple shutouts.

Coach Mulligan’s group has responded to adversity well. After a September 17 loss to RFH, the team went on a 9-1 streak, with huge wins against strong teams such as Holmdel and Howell.

“We've worked so hard all season to get to this point,” Brady said. “There’s no doubt in my mind about us being ready for the postseason.”

CBA is a force to be reckoned with as the Colts move into the postseason, and all eyes are on the team as they look to repeat as Shore Conference Champions. In fact, CBA is the three-time defending champion.

They go into the tournament as the number one seed, earning a BYE for the first round. The Colts will face Walll in the second round at Keane Field on October 18.
