Since becoming head coach in 2001, Karl Torchia has continually elevated CBA's track & field programs to new heights.

With his “track” record of helping hundreds of student-athletes achieve success, it was only fitting that the NJSCA, in conjunction with the NJSIAA, made Torchia one of their 2024 Hall of Fame inductees.

During Torchia's tenure, CBA has won 13 indoor state championships, 11 outdoor state championships, 18 indoor relay state titles, and a combined 31 Shore Conference titles.

He has impacted hundreds of student-athletes' lives, helping them achieve their goals both on and off the track.

The NJSCA Hall of Fame dates back to 1964 with inductees selected by a committee comprised of other New Jersey coaches.

It is not Torchia's first major honor during his time at CBA. In 2019, he was named the Northeast Regional Coach of the Year for the 2019 outdoor track & field season by the National Federation for High Schools.

Just in the last 12 months, Torchia's teams have won the 2023 Non-Public A State Championship for outdoor track & field, the 2024 Non-Public State relay title for indoor track, and the Shore Conference titles for both outdoor and indoor seasons.
