As the weather slowly started to warm in late April, CBA Crew began to heat up as well.
Beginning with the Garden State Championships on April 29, the team rowed in five big regattas over the course of four weeks.
It was a medal-winning event for the Colts at the Garden State Championships, with two boats bringing home the top prize. The Lightweight 4 and the Junior 8 were gold medal winners on the Cooper River in Camden, while Senior 4 and the Novice 8 each finished in third place.
Just a day later, CBA was at the Cooper Cup, where the Varsity 8 took home the silver medal in the Men's U19+ category, staving off the competition by less than a second. The Novice 4+ and Novice 8+ each won their respective races.
The Philadelphia City Championships were next for the team and two boats earned first place trophies: the Varsity 4+ and the JV8+. The Lightweight 4 added a third place finish in Philly.
Three boats qualified to attend the Scholastic National Rowing Championships this spring. The JV8, Lightweight 4 and Freshman 8 faced off against the best competition in the country on Melton Hill Lake in Tennessee.
The Colts brought a Nationals medal back to Lincroft, as the Lightweight 4 boat of Nicolas Alekshun ‘23, Harrison Stastney ‘24, Connor Burke ‘25, Jack Keavey ‘25 and Quinlan Hackel ‘25 finished in third place.
