On January 5, CBA Basketball dropped an overtime thriller to Freehold Township in the second division game of the season.

It proved to be the motivation the Colts needed as CBA did not lose another division game for the remainder of the regular season.

Christian Brothers earned the A North Division title with a 7-1 record, running off six straight division wins to clinch the top spot.

The winning streak included difficult road contests in the middle of January, when CBA won at Howell, Freehold Township and Marlboro in the span of 12 days. That 48-39 road victory over Freehold Township proved to pivotal, as the Patriots were the division runners-up at 6-2.

While CBA won the unofficial division during the Covid-19 affected 2020-2021 season, it was the Colts' first division title since 2018-2019.

Christian Brothers was seeded seventh in the 26-team Shore Conference Tournament.
