For a second straight year, Christian Brothers Academy Wrestling dominated the District 21 Tournament.
The Colts won the tournament by 108 points over second place Jackson Liberty at Point Pleasant Boro High School.
The tournament was a qualifier for the Region 6 Tournament and CBA advanced 12 wrestlers to the Regions.
Six CBA wrestlers became multiple time district champions in their weight classes. Seniors Tyler Barrett (120 lbs) and Zander Silva (157) won their third district titles, while seniors Julian George (144), Anthony Lawrence (165), Rob Canterino (215) and junior Alex Nini (138) notched their second district win.
Nini scored a major decision in the 138-pound title bout, which earned him the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
First-time winners included freshman Bobby Duffy (113), sophomore AJ Falcone (126), junior Tyler Venet (120) and senior Nick Stump (175).
CBA also advanced senior Peter Grippo, who finished second at 190 pounds, and sophomore Alex Provines at 106 pounds.
All 12 wrestlers participated in the Region 6 Tournament at Jackson Liberty High School on February 24 and 25.
Ten Colts finished first or second in their weight classes at Regions to advance to the NJSIAA Individual State Championships in Atlantic City.
Weight class winners included Nini, Canterino, George, Silva, Falcone, Duffy and Lawrence, while Barrett, Stump and Venet were runners-up.
George is now a three-time region champion, while Nini, Silva and Canterino won their second region title.
The individual states begin on March 2 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
