The Colts took to the water for the first time in spring season at Philadelphia’s Schuykill River in the Manny Flick/Horvat Regattas Series 3 and 4 over the past two weekends.
In the Manny Flick 4 on April 10, CBA demonstrated its depth of talent, fielding six boats in six races, scoring big with four first place wins, with three of the winning boats posting top times in their categories overall.
The JV 4+ won their flight with a time of 4:53.55, also posting the fastest time of their category, outpacing all 15 boats by at least 6 seconds, including strong competitors such as Haverford and St. Joe’s. The Lightweight 4+ glided to first place with a time of 5:09.17, 17 seconds ahead of Atlantic City, which came in second. The JV4x came in a strong second in their flight.
The JV8+ powered through their flight, posting the fastest time of their category, 4:29.40, winning by a strong 4 second margin ahead of St. Joseph’s ‘A’ boat in second place overall.
In the Varsity 2x races, CBA boats nabbed first and second place in their respective flights.
In the Manny Flick 3 on April 3, the Colts’ first race of the spring season, CBA fielded two boats. The Boys Lightweight 4+ took first place overall in its flight with a time of 5.12.19. They finished 4.7 seconds ahead of the second place boat from LaSalle. In other results, the Colts varsity Boys 4x quad came in 4th with a time of 4:58.160.
