After a stellar senior season, Christian Brothers Academy's Dylan Cupo was recognized as an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association.
The Colts' forward finished the season with a whopping 47 points, including a team-leading 21 goals scored.
"Dylan is a rare player that possesses a combination of the highest academic standards, coupled with gifted athletic abilities, leadership qualities, and a relentless work ethic that makes everyone in the CBA soccer community extremely proud of all of his accomplishments," said head coach Tom Mulligan.
Cupo led CBA to a No. 2 overall ranking in the state by NJ.com. He helped propel the Colts to the A North Division title, Shore Conference Championship, South Sectional Championship, and a spot in the state championship game.
"While an All-American is an individual award, I see this recognition as a representation of our ability as a team to compete and succeed at an exceptionally high level of soccer," Cupo said. "I would not have been able to accomplish this without the hard work, positive attitude, and dedication of my teammates throughout the season."
The United Soccer Coaches Association also included Cupo on the All-East Region team. Locally, he garnered honors as NJ.com first team all-state, Asbury Park Press and Shore Sports Network first team all-Shore, and the Shore Coaches Monmouth County Player of the Year.
Perhaps most impressively, Cupo has maintained a near 99 cumulative grade point average while starring on the soccer field.
Cupo is the first Colt to receive All-American accolades since Shane Keenan '18 did for the 2017 fall season. Matt Thorsheim '16 also earned an All-American honor in fall of 2016.
