Christian Brothers Academy Hockey faced off against Gordon Conference rival Don Bosco Prep at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York on Tuesday evening.
The game was the second "Military Appreciation Night" the two programs have played, with last year's game being hosted by CBA at Jersey Shore Arena. That game raised over $15,000 for the purchase of service dogs for wounded veterans.
Although the Colts dropped this year's contest to the Ironmen, the two teams honored our active armed forces members and also our fallen military heroes. Just as CBA honored fallen 2000 graduate Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski last year, Don Bosco paid tribute to a fallen graduate of their own, Major Tom Kennedy.
Both Christian Brothers and Don Bosco sported special military-style jerseys that they debuted last year during the first annual contest. The teams will continue the tradition next season with CBA hosting the night at a venue to be determined.
CBA Athletics would like to thank the U.S. Military Academy, Army West Point Hockey and Don Bosco Prep for organizing a great game at such a prestigious venue.
