After a winter season in which he led CBA Bowling in most statistical categories, junior Bennett Cavallo is the CBA Digital Network’s Player of the Year.

Cavallo consistently showcased his skill and dedication throughout the year. His ability to maintain a high average and stay consistent is a key part of his outstanding performance this season. He was a main reason why the Colts went 16-3 in dual matches.

“I really don't think about it and try to throw the same shot every time. It's more muscle memory than anything,” Cavallo said about his consistency throughout the winter.

Head coach Patrick Reynolds knows that Cavallo was the Colts’ leader at the lanes over the past few months.

“Bennett has been the most consistent and reliable bowler on our team, always stepping up when it matters most,” Reynolds said.

Many great bowlers have a certain way of warming up to get ready for their games, but Cavallo likes to keep it simple.

“If I'm being real, I honestly don't do anything except throw in an airpod and listen to music,” he said. “Other than that, I just try to relax and have fun with it.”

As he looks ahead, Cavallo aims to build upon this success. His remarkable average of 193.15 stands as a benchmark for his teammates as they look to improve next year.

Reynolds also believes that Cavallo is someone who can be called upon as a leader and set examples for others.

“What truly sets him apart, though, is his leadership style. He leads by example, demonstrating what hard work, focus, and dedication look like every single day,” Reynolds said.

Cavallo bowled 299 - just a point shy of a perfect game - in a late January win over Shore Regional, joining a select list of bowlers in the state who bowled a 290+ this winter.

“His 299 game was definitely one of the highlights of the season,” Reynolds said. “We’re confident that he’ll be the next Colt to achieve that perfect 300.”
