In the span of two days, the Christian Brothers Academy soccer and cross country teams proved they're still the best in the Shore.

CBA Cross Country won the Shore Conference Championship on Thursday afternoon at Ocean County Park. The victory is the Colts' 10th straight title and an outstanding 32nd overal.

The Colts won 35-66 over second place Colts Neck, with CBA's one through five runners finishing 5-6-7-8-9 all within nine seconds of each other. Among the CBA finishers, seven runners set personal records.

CBA's average landed at 15:25.6 seconds, which is the fourth fastest course time at Ocean County Park. The three other faster times? Christian Brothers in 2013, 2012 and 2014.

Junior Brian Hill was the Colts' top finisher in fifth with a personal record of 15:19. Genaro Anzalone, Patrick Kilcooley, Joe Boyle, and Colin Trigani followed in the top ten.

"We always look forward to coming here each year to see how fast we can run on such a fast course, and we're really happy with how strong we ran,'' Hill told reporters after the meet. "To have my teammates come in so close behind like that is better than I expected. I think I can run even better and so can the rest of our team.''

On Saturday night at Central Regional High School, CBA Soccer captured their second straight Shore Conference Championship with a 2-0 win over Marlboro.

The top-seeded Colts met a Marlboro team who handed CBA their only loss 10 days prior, and didn't relinquish an opportunity to get revenge on the conference's biggest stage.

In the 15th minute, Matt Mawson gave CBA the lead on an assist from Patrick Kollman.

Seeking a security goal, John Askin delivered a clutch shot in the 56th minute on an assist from Thomas Judge, proving more than enough offense for the Colts.

The Colts had several other chances for a bigger lead, including a goal that was waved off for offsides, but the CBA defense, led by Askin, Scott Misson and goalie Aedan Boriotti, kept Marlboro at bay.

"I told [the seniors] prior to the game that this was senior night for us and this was the goal for them: to win a Shore Conference Championship," head coach Tom Mulligan said after the game. "Whether you're an alum that's in the stands or an assistant coach on the bench, everyone associated with the CBA community is very proud of the team's effort tonight."

Both soccer and cross country now look towards the next goal: a state championship. Cross Country will run the Non-Public A State Championship on November 12 at Holmdel Park, while the soccer team will begin the state tournament on November 3 at CBA.
