While the bowling team has always been a tight knit group at Christian Brothers Academy, head coach Pat Reynolds had an idea for a special team bonding trip this winter that was sure to make this season one to remember.

Eight student-athletes traveled with Reynolds and Mr. Matt Butler to Dallas last weekend for a few days of team bonding, some service activities and a unique practice opportunity.

The Colts were able to visit the International Bowling Hall of Fame and the Bowling International Training and Research Center (ITRC), both located in Arlington. After a tour through the Hall of Fame, they held a practice session at the ITRC, where they got up to speed with the latest technologies and skills to help hone their game. The team was even able to hold a CBA two-on-two tournament at the ITRC with varying professional oil grade patterns to test their talent.

After learning more about the game they play on a daily basis, the team took part in 10 hours of community service with the Humane Society of North Texas. The students helped build and repair beds for the dogs and cats, while also organizing and cleaning to help the animals stay comfortable. Of course, they were able to have some fun by walking and playing with the dogs at the center.

The team could not leave Texas without experiencing some real Texas Pit BBQ, as well as taking in a Dallas Mavericks basketball game and getting an all-access tour in the Cowboys' state-of-the-art AT&T Stadium.

The bowling team returned to New Jersey on Monday readying to continue their strong play in the Shore Conference. Leading up to January 14th, the Colts have won nine of their 10 dual matches, looking to win another division title and contend in the Shore Conference Tournament.
