Mr. Dan Keane--a fixture of the Christian Brothers Academy community in schooling, sport, and spirit--will be retiring after the 2015-16 academic year. To celebrate his amazing contribution to CBA, Thursday, October 8th has been declared "Dan Keane Day."

The day will culminate with a pre-game ceremony beginning at 3:30pm at the CBA soccer fields before the start of the game vs. Freehold Boro. All students, parents, alumni, and alumni players of soccer and tennis are invited and encouraged to come out and join us in honoring this stalwart presence in Academy history.

Mr. Keane began teaching at the Academy in 1977, taking on the role of soccer coach for the 1978 fall season and as tennis coach beginning with the 1980 spring season. Under Coach's leadership, CBA has went 526-153-40 for Boys Varsity Soccer and 649-155 for Boys Varsity Tennis. Keane's storied career includes five Varsity Soccer NJSIAA state championship victories—the first in 1992—and 14 Varsity Tennis state championship victories—including a 7-year streak from 1980 to 1986.

"I'm really a proud reflection of the players and coaches of both programs," says Mr. Keane in looking back on his time at CBA. "It's just been a great opportunity and I've been very fortunate." His legacy will include being a major fixture of the history department at CBA, and having a hand in the formation of several thousand graduates over his 39 year tenure.
