Three soccer student-athletes made their collegiate decisions official on Wednesday, February 3rd, inking their National Letters of Intent to play for respected Division I universities.

Seniors Nicholas Meyer, Athanasios Scheidt and Joseph Gordon joined the fifteen other CBA athletes who signed their letters of intent in November. Division I soccer chooses to do their signing day in February, along with Division I football.

Meyer will play his college ball at Fordham University, which finished tied for third in the 13-member Atlantic-10 Conference during 2015 play. Meyer was a standout leader on the field for the Colts during his senior season. He finished with eight goals- which ranked top-20 in the Shore Conference- and three assists in the 2015 campaign.

"It's a great feeling to sign," Meyer said. "It's amazing to be able to continue to play the sport I love at my top choice school. Being a part of Coach Keane's last season was so humbling, and it certainly prepared me to have the utmost respect for my collegiate coaches. Going to Fordham, I will be the best prepared both in soccer and in my education thanks to CBA."

Scheidt stays close to home for his collegiate career, joining the Rutgers University squad that finished 2015 tied for third in the ultra-competitive BIG 10 Conference. Scheidt played two years for CBA from 2012 through 2013, before continuing his career in a travel league.

"I'm really excited to get to Rutgers and show everyone that I deserve to be there," Scheidt said. "I think I will fit in really well with the team at Rutgers and CBA definitely helped give me the confidence that I will succeed both in school and in soccer."

Gordon will take his talents to Lafayette College, playing soccer in the 10-member Patriot League. Gordon also played with the Colts for two seasons in 2012 and 2013 before continuing with travel ball.

"I really can't wait to get to the next level and start working," Gordon said. "I knew Lafayette was the place for me because it gave me a combination of great athletics and great academics. CBA has taught me what it takes to excel in life and what it means to be a man. Of course, I thank legendary Coach Keane for getting me out on the field and providing his wisdom during my early career."

The three athletes will continue their education and playing careers at schools with terrific academic and athletic reputations, continuing the CBA tradition of striving for the ultimate experience in both capacities.

"Another proud moment for the CBA community today as we celebrate three talented soccer players and recognize their commitment to play at such fine universities," Director of Athletics Vito Chiaravalloti said. "Joe, Nick and Thanasios are not only superb soccer players, but accomplished students and young men of character. We wish them the best going forward in their academic pursuits and their athletic careers."
