As the winter season enters late January, most CBA sports are beginning their favorite time of year: championship season.

It is Shore Conference Championship week for three Colts squads: indoor track, wrestling and swimming. Here's a rundown of what CBA fans are watching for:

INDOOR TRACK

It has been a season of titles and broken records for the CBA indoor track team. They have already pocketed a state relay championship, a county relay championship and the Monmouth County overall title. In early January, senior Mike Zupko set the new all-time points record in CBA Track history. Meanwhile, just after Christmas, the foursome of Sean Martinek, Brendan Bodisch, Zupko and Drake Anzano set a U.S. record time in the distance medley relay at the Marine Corps Classic in New York City.

The track and field team will go for their 21st Shore Conference Championship on Tuesday, January 27. The meet will be held at the Bennett Center in Toms River. The Colts have won the past five Shore championships dating back to 2011. Their first championship came in 1983.

WRESTLING

The CBA wrestling team has experience somewhat of a renaissance season in 2015-16. The Colts are ranked either first or second in every Shore wrestling poll, getting a huge boost from their victory over former No. 1 Howell earlier this month. Howell had won 73-straight meets before their bout with CBA, but on Howell's home mats, the Colts stunned the Rebels for their first Shore loss since 2005.

The Colts have not participated in the Shore Conference Tournament for five of the past six seasons due to the Jack Welch Duals usually falling on the same weekend. The two tournaments were scheduled for different weekends in 2016 and head coach Russell Witt's squad heads into the Shore Tournament with the top seed. A top seed means that CBA will host the first round on Thursday afternoon in the McKay Gym, with the later rounds being held on Saturday at Red Bank Regional.

Believe it or not, the Colts have never won the Shore Conference Championship, but with a team of motivated and hungry wrestlers, that may change this year.

SWIMMING

You may know this story by now: CBA Swimming has never lost a Shore Conference Championship in their 25 years in the conference. The Colts have set the bar for Shore swimming and look to win their 26th-consecutive championship on Friday night at the Ocean County YMCA.

CBA has already won the Monmouth County Championship earlier this month, their 26th-straight county title. The Colts also beat the No. 1 ranked team in Pennsylvania, La Salle College High School, in late December. Championship season means that the Colts are working as hard as ever, as they look to win their seventh straight NJSIAA state championship in February.
