CBA Athletics is pleased to announce that Blaise Ferro '16 (Varsity XC) and Tanner Crochet '19 (JV XC) are the November Student-Athletes of the Month.

Blaise Ferro | Varsity XC | Senior | Shrewsbury, N.J.

The Rundown:

Ferro has been a staple on the CBA cross country team for his entire CBA career and he certainly has made his final stretch count. After beginning the 2015 season with an injury, Ferro won the NJSIAA State Non-Public A individual championship, finished second at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions and won the Nike Cross Country Northeast Regional Championship, which helped the Colts qualify for the National Championship. Although every accolade is impressive, his Regional Championship win was perhaps the most impressive, as he was the fastest runner in the field that was comprised of teams from nine different states. Ferro now leads the Colts into the Nike Nationals this upcoming weekend.

What They Are Saying About Blaise:

"Blaise has overcome an injury to achieve this great success," assistant coach Sean McCafferty said. "He has also helped bring our team together in recent weeks."

Tanner Crochet | JV XC | Freshman | Monmouth Beach, N.J.

The Rundown:

A standout in the making, Crochet developed into one of the best freshman for the Colts this fall. When another top freshmen runner went out with an injury, Crochet stepped up and ran terrifically. He has been the fastest freshman runner on CBA since late September, and his great fall culminated with being the top freshman at the Northeast Regional Championship. He also won the NJCTC Catholic Championship race. His coaches view him as a natural leader and someone who will carry the Colts into the future.

What They Are Saying About Tanner:

"Tanner's leadership on the freshmen team has been tremendous," McCafferty said. "His work ethic and competitiveness is contagious."
